STAFNE’S BONE CAVITY: REPORT OF TWO CASES

Stafne’s bone cavities are round or ovoid, wellcircumscribed radiolucencies located at the lingual cortex of mandible, below the inferior alveolar canal, mostly near the angle. these asymptomatic and benign entities may cause confusion in establishing diagnosis particularly when characteristic features are not present. the present report demonstrates two cases of stafne’s bone cavity in the posterior mandible which were coincidentally recognized in radiologic examination and the value of diagnostic techniques is discussed.
