COMBINED ORTHODONTICS AND PERIODONTAL TREATMENT OF A PATIENT WITH PERIODONTITIS (A CASE REPORT)

Periodontal disease is often associa- ted with pathological migration which beco- mes an esthetic concern. there should be a very close cooperation between orthodontic and periodontal therapies in individuals with periodontitis who need orthodontic treat- ment. in the treatment planning, as the attachment levels are decreased in individuals with periodontitis as compared to healthy individuals, physiologic status of the tissues should be considered together with biome- canic procedures. the aim of this clinical report was the multidisciplinary management of a 33 year-old male with severe periodontal disease causing esthetic and functional problems on his maxillary anterior teeth as a result of pathological migration.
