چکیده    Toxoplasmosis is a zoonotic disease caused by an obligate intracellular protozon. it causes significant economic losses in small ruminants (loss of production, treatment and control cost, etc.) and in people (diagnosis, treatment, work force etc.). for this reason, our aim in our study was to investigate the seroprevalence of toxoplasma (t.) gondii in sheep and goats in kars province. a total of 380 sheep and goats (230 sheep and 150 goats) were obtained from kars and surrounding provinces. blood samples were taken from v. jugularis of the animals and their sera were collected. the presence of anti-t. gondii antibodies was investigated by elisa in the serum samples. of the 380 animals examined, 48 (25 sheep and 23 goat) were seropositive while 332 (205 sheep and 127 goat) were seronegative. on the farm basis, 3 of the 8 central farms and 10 of the 47 operating in the towns (arpaçay, kağızman, selim and susuz) were found to be seropositive. in conclusion, this study was thought to provide useful information about the current state of t. gondii infection and to take necessary measures for public health and contribute to disease control applications.
