finger nerve sheath myxoma: a rare case report

Introduction: nerve sheath myxoma (nsm) is a rare benign neoplasm of nerve sheath origin with schwann cell differentiation. nsm and neurothekeoma were considered one single phenomenon in the past. case presentation: a 28-year-old woman presented to our hospital clinic with pain and a fixed firm mass in the proximal phalanx of the right second finger. excisional biopsy was performed and histological examination revealed nsm. conclusions: based on the findings, nsm should be considered in the differential diagnosis of firm and tender masses in the upper extremities of young adults.
