   Nahda Movement in 19th Century: Formation, Scope and Limits of Modern Arabic Thought

چکیده    Nahda movement is considered as the early stages of the modernization process in the arab world. it describes the impact of collapse of ottoman empire and europe becoming a hegemonic power on the arab thought system. nahda, which is defined as “arab awakening” or “arab renaissance” in arabic literature, is a political and cultural movement. it offers clues for the nature of the modern arab thought in the face of pressures in response to the structural changes in the arab society it is important to study the content of arab identity, its foundations, emergence and development and also the crisis it endured during time of dramatic changes from the historical and social perspectives. in this article we discuss the foundations of modern arab thought in the light of the new era that the arab world is currently going through and the long-term crisis that the arabic world has been experiencing.
