THE RELATIONSHIP OF BETWEEN PEER PRESSURE SELF-ESTEEM AND ALCOHOL USE AMONG ADOLESCENTS

This study investigates the relationships between peer pressure, self-esteem and alcohol use of high school students in tuzla, istanbul. in this study the scales of peer pressure and self-esteem were used for eleven grade students (n=129). the ratio of girls is 31% and the ratio of boys is 69%. according to the findings of the research, as the degree of peer pressure increases, the degree of self-esteem decreases. the ratio of students using alcohol is 64% and none-user is 36%. the students using alcohol have higher degree of peer pressure and lower degree of self-esteem.
