The Effects of Flipped Classroom Model on Academic Achievement Level and Students’ Opinions

|
Different methods have been applied inside and outside the classroom to raise individuals who adapt to the changing world. in traditional methods, in the classroom, time usually takes place on the subject of narration, and it is insufficient for students to learn fully, so students are expected to practice and learn the subject with their homework. in this study, the flipped classroom model, which reverses the traditional learning-teaching process, was evaluated. with this model, the teacher provides students with individualized education and training opportunity by using various suitable materials for the student, thus providing the students with the opportunity to learn at their own pace. the main purpose of this study is to examine the application of the flipped classroom model to students. in the research, experimental and control groups were studied and students’ access was examined. the study group of the research consists of 10th grade students (46 people) studying in a high school in mersin. the research group consists of the experiment in which the flipped class model is applied and the control group in which the activities in the course and workbook related to the current mone program are applied. pretests were applied to the students before the experimental procedure, the method took place and the posttest was applied, and then students were asked about their opinions about the method. when the pretest and posttest results were examined, a significant difference was observed between the access of the experimental and control group students. as a result of the interviews with the students, the general opinions of the students about the model are positive. according to the analysis of the answers given by the students, it was observed that the model contributed to the learning of the students, they had more opportunities to practice, the students were more motivated and this model entertained them. based on the results obtained, it can be suggested that the flipped classroom model can be used extensively in schools since it has a positive effect on access.
