   Comparison of 9th and 10th Grade Students’ Problem Posing Ability About Fraction and Percentage Problems

چکیده    This qualitative case study aimed to compare 9th and 10th grade students’ problem posing ability on “fraction and percentage problems”. the participants of the study included 67 9th grade students who were in high school in kocaeli/gebze and the same 67 students who passed 9th grade and started to 10th grade in the 2018-2019 academic year. “problem posing ability test” was used as pre-test and post-test as a data collection tool. the research was a longitudinal study including semi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test control groups.3 open-ended problem cases were prepared for the fraction and percentage problems in the test that was created to determine the students’ problemposing abilities. the first question was structured and the second and third questions were semistructured. content analysis was used to analyze the data, during which we utilized the stages of data analysis. problem posing questions were analyzed by using the evaluation rubric. after each paper was scored, the total score for each was calculated out of 100. frequency table and histogram were prepared with the data generated. when the 9th and 10th grades problem posing abilities were compared, it was concluded that the 10th grade students’ problem posing abilities were more successful than their 9th grade progress.
