   Personal values as a predictor of prospective teachers’ attitude towards teaching profession

چکیده    The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between prospective teachers’ personalvalues and attitude towards teaching profession. participants of the study included a total of 210 teacher candidates from the karabük university and the istanbul commerce university in the2015-2016 academic year. “a personal values inventory” and “attitude scale towards the teachingprofession” were the data collection instruments. arithmetic mean, pearson product-momentcorrelation coefficient and multiple linear regression analysis were used to analyze the data.the results of the study showed that the level of teacher candidates’ values and attitudes towardsthe teaching profession were positive and high. the dimensions of personal values inventory andthe attitude scale towards the teaching profession correlated positively. the personal values of the prospective teachers were found to predict their attitudes towards teaching profession. results of the study were discussed in line with the related literature and some implications were presented.
