Fahr’s disease; two case report

Fahr’s disease is a rare disorder where bilateral, almost symmetric, calcium and other mineral deposits occur in basal ganglia, cerebellar dentate nucleus and white matter. common clinical findings of the disease are characterizing parkinsonism, dystonia, chorea, ataxia and psychiatric symptoms. fahr’s syndrome is associated with various metabolic and systemic disorders, specially parathyroid disorders. in this article we described 66 and 68 years old two female patients who have memory loss, epilepsy, different systemic and metabolic diseases. brain computed tomography showed fahr type calcification in the bilateral basal ganglia, thalamus, periventricular white matter, centrum semiovale, and cerebellum.
