|
Without doubt, it is essential to function within ethic values for media, which must be accountable to the public. media’s loyalty to ethic values is the determiner of the trust or distrust that people have who use media. this study discusses “ethic” from the perspective of the management personnel of the local media organizations. in other words, it puts the subject of the event in the center. this study aims to present the local media organizations’ general structure, and also it aims to discuss “ethic” from the perspective of these organizations. in the theoretic part of the study the subjects such as ethic, media and ethic, ethical problems in journalism are discussed within the light of literature review. in the application part, a 27-question survey is conducted to the managers, who are executive editor or chief editor, of 55 newspapers in 9 cities. the survey that is performed in this study gives important information about the perception of ethic in practice by the local media in turkey.
