   MYTHOLOGICAL APPROACHES AND ARCHETYPES IN POST-9/11 HOLLYWOOD

چکیده    The attacks of september 11, 2001 have caused political, military, economic and social transformations all around the world, namely in the united states. these transformations have also been reflected in film. hollywood, which has largely represented the politics and ideology of the united states, became an agent of representation of these mentioned transformations. in this context, films produced after september 11 have incorporated in their scripts, openly or covertly, this social trauma. this study aims to analyze comic book adaptations and big budgets films produced after september 11, that have reached a wide range of audiences and that have mythological roots. the reflections of september 11 in the films will be evaluated. the study will have a jungian approach. carl gustav jung is a theoretician who founded analytical psychology and is often used in inter-disciplinary studies that incorporate psychology. the archetypes jung uses in his works, namely persona and shadow, are frequently of use in film analysis. this study will take the relationship of film and analytical psychology as its basis and will analyze the mythological and archetypal approaches in films associated with september 11 that, namely the films “300 spartans” and “the dark knight”.
