TELEVISION REPRESENTATION AS A MEDIUM AT NEW (INDEPENDENT) TURKISH MOVIE

New turkish cinema has started to form with new films which its filmmakers grew at of 1980’s and their critics of yeşilçam’s cinema in 1990’s. these film makers narrate to personal and social signs of period which they live in or lived by use of self film language against to yeşilçam’s discour and esthetic. each of them has tried to reflect self political and social existence into his/her films’ world. because of they are opposite to yeşilçam’s esthetic and ideologic formation and try to afford their film’s cost by their own or international funds they are called as independent filmmakers. their independent situations give them a chance to chose many subjects which have not been treated before or retreat to subjetcs with critical aspect which yeşilçam takes those by mainstream approach.this work aims to indicate 'how television are represented' at new turkish movie (independent movie) as a mass media through examples from new turkish movie. 'what television’s image is interms of new turkish movie' which is both mass media and artistic creation is main question for this work. films of first generation filmmakers as zeki demirkubuz, nuri bilge ceylan, yeşim ustaoğlu whose a lot of contribition to new turkish movie and films of seren yüce, erdem tepegöz constitute a frame of this work. socio-political analysis will be used as a method which we benefit from it to see sociological, political and economical tissue of turkey. it is expected from questions or arguments that will emerge at the end of this work to be an initial as regards assessment on new turkish movie’s approach toward mass media especially t.v.
