THE ROLE AND IMPORTANCE OF STAKEHOLDER RELATIONS IN PROJECT MANAGEMENT

The problems we encounter in the society we live in reveal the need for change and the solution proposals related to that. implementing the idea of change and reaching the desired results is possible by converting the subject idea into a real project. the projects produced as a consequence of the solution seeking can be managed efficiently by virtue of ‘’project cycle management’’ and ‘’logical framework approach’’. projects are carried out within the framework of correct analysis, comprehensive planning, efficient application and a realistic monitoring/evaluation process. although high human labour and considerable pecuniary resources are used, most projects give results below expectations. in the light of the experiences lived, it is seen that success in projects is related directly with human relations management, being effective management of the relationships with the project team members and stakeholders, correct communication of messages to the target masses and informing the public effectively and on time. as in every area of our life, ‘’correct communication’’ appears before us as the key to success in project management process also. within the scope of this thesis; by evaluating which public relations methods can be used in planning and implementation of the prepared projects in a productive and permanent way and the role and importance of these, study will be made on a sample project.
