A DRAMATURGICAL APPROACH TO DUVARA KARŞI AND ZENNE MOVIES

This article aims to understand how and under which influences the personality of individual as an actant in film narratives is constructed. focusing on post-2000 turkish cinema, this study analyses two movies, duvara karşı and zenne, on the basis of dramaturgical approach obtained from symbolic interactionism and with the help of domination and resistance, gender and hegemonic masculinity concepts. after the analysis, it is adressed that the actant individuals have secret scenarios which are not accepted by the society, that these individuals perform acceptable performances in order to not to expose the destructive informations which are the nature of these scenarios, on the other hand it is seen that these individuals try to reach to the desired objects which possibly raises the strength of existence on the back stage. in the end of the study, it is seen that social texts have the power to change and transform the personality of the individual, even to destroy it by claiming the individual as “other” on the end of the both narratives.
