   THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PUBLIC RELATIONS AND CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY: A STUDY TO DETERMINE PUBLIC RELATIONS STUDENTS’ OPINIONS

چکیده    The main aim of thispaper is to display the opinions of undergraduate students of public relations on the relationship between public relations (pr) and corporate socia lresponsibility (csr). inrespect of this goal ,firstly, the theoretical background of csr concept and its importance for companies is evaluated theoretically and also the role of pr in csr practices is examined. in the last part of the study, interviews with students from ege university public relations and publicity department and izmir university of economics public relations and advertising department are conducted in order to reveal opinions of pr undergraduates on the subject. according to the result of the interviews, it is found that the respondents view pr as the in separable part of csr projects and csr as an important task of pr practitioners. on the other hand, respondents criticized both the practices of companies and the pr practitioners by indicating that csr is practiced for reputation/image management, advertisement and promotion.
