|
In 1989, the majority of the bulgarian turks who were forced to emigrate prefered to come toturkey. in this study, some issues about the lives of the bulgarian emigrants who live in the şahin tepesi, eskişehir. the bridges they built among themselves and between the “theothers”, and issues such as communication, cultural identity, adaptation are investigated underthe main title of intercultural communication. besides the bulgarian emigrants’ ways of being accepted by the society and defining their cultural identities are evaluated in the context of communication. the participants generally stated that they get on well with all the groups representative of the society and go ahead without questioning too much the problems they had during the adaptation process. the participants pointed out that they make no discrimination of etnicity orreligion and they find it more fruitfuland successful to communicate with another bulgarian emigrant in social and cultural interaction.
