SOCIAL CHANGE AND CRISIS NARRATIVE IN YAVUZ TURGUL’S FILMS

This study analyses yavuz turgul’s films in the context of the sociopolitical transformation and the crisis of modernity in turkey. in the first part of the study focuses on turkey’s social and cultural structure after 1980. the second part of the study aims to present an analysis of turgul’s films in the light of common properties and main themes such as social change, east-west dichotomy and male friendship. using the methods of the sociological approach, the study also explores the relationship between turgul’s films and the dominant discourses of the period.
