AN EVALUATION OF CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILTY WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT AND CORPORATE SUSTAINABILITY

Sustainable development was mentioned in the united nations conference on human environment in 1972 held in stockholm at first. after this conference in 1987, our common future report was published and the contemporarily definition of sustainable development was made which has been used today. sustainable development which has economic, social and environmental dimensions, was defined as “the kind of development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs” thus, the concept of corporate sustainability was equated as sustainable development and it is realized as sustainability on the company level. in todays business world the concept of corporate social responsibility, one of the important aspects of corporate sustainability, came up as a strategic approach which makes a difference in society and as well as an obligation. this study aims to examine the relationship between the concepts of sustainable development, corporate sustainability and corporate social responsibility in theoretical framework and to make an overall assessment.
