BEING EXAMINED THE EMPATHIC COMMUNICATION SKILLS OF COMMUNICATION HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS (ANKARA PROVINCE MODEL)

Empathy is a very important constituent affecting the relations between people. individuals having empathic skill understand and share the feelings and thoughts of people around them. empathic skill affects both our individual and social lives positively. this study aimed to examine the empathic communication skill levels of three communication high school students in ankara in terms of the socio-demographic variables. the research universe is formed by 526 students studied at three communication high schools in ankara province center in autumn semester, 2009-2010. in the research, personal information form and communication skills inventory taking from 45 questions with five fold likert scale were used. the datum was analyzed by using spss 11,5 programme. the assumptions’ test was practiced by using the independence two groups average comparison t-test in the comparisons of two groups and, however using one-sided variance analysis test in the comparisons of the average of groups more than two. according to the research findings, while showing a meaningful difference according to sex, empathic communication skills’ scores aren’t be affected meaningfully by the parent’s education.
