   NURSES’ COMPLIANCE WITH ISOLATION PRECAUTIONS WORKED IN A PUBLIC HOSPTTAL

چکیده    Objective: this research has been made as descriptive and cross-sectional with the aim to determine the level of nurses’ compliance with isolation precautions which are worked in a public hospital. methods: the study population was consisted of 389 nurses working in an university hospital, the sample was consisted of 225 nurses who involved to the study. data were collected with a questionnaire prepared by the researchers and “scale compliance with isolation precautions” with 18 items. data were collected between the dates 5-15 july 2012. in analyzing of the data t-test, kruskall-wallis test, mann whitney u test and analysis of variance (anova) was used. permission to conduct the study was obtained from ethics committee and hospital. results: the mean age of the nurses was found as 30.11 ± 6.34 years, %3.6 of them was experienced the blood-borne infection early, and %82.7 of them were participated to a training program related to nosocomial infection. the mean score of nurses’ compliance with isolation precautions was 78.12 ± 9.97. experience the blood-borne infection was not affected the nurses’ compliance with isolation precautions, but the age groups of the nurses, working period in profession affected the nurses’ compliance with isolation precautions. conclusion: it was conclude that nurses’ compliance with isolation precautions is quite high.
