   PROFESSIONAL SELF–CONCEPT SCALE IN STUDENT NURSES; DEVELOPMENT, RELIABILITY, VALIDITY

چکیده    Objective: the study was aimed to develop a scale instrument for evaluating the development of professional self concept in student nurses and to conduct its validity and reliability study. method: expert opinion on articles has been that prepared reviewed the literature related with topic and a pool of 55 articles was created. the draft scale was applied at the end education year to 285 students educated in a nursing school. results: the scale total cronbach alpha coefficient was found .88, test-retest reliability coefficient .79, and correlations of each article with total point was found between .27 and .62. in factor analysis done with varimax rotation for construct validity, whose eigenvalue is over 1, explaining 63.2 % of total variability, 13 factors consisting of 45 articles were obtained and the scale after re-evaluation was formed under 3 factors. these factors are called “professional satisfaction”, “professional competence” and professional attributes. conclusion: findings, professional self-concept scale for the student nurses (snpscs) is a valid and reliable instrument and that it can be used for the assessment of student nurses’ professional self concept.
