   FEEDING MOTHERLESS YOUNG ANIMALS IN ANATOLIAN AND THE WORD “EKTĐ-EHDĐ”

چکیده    Social changings which emerged as a result of scientific and technological progress and immigration from rural areas to urban areas due to development and urbanization caused disappearance of vocabulary related to village and town life (words which belong to agriculture, stockbreeding etc.) decrease of frequency of occurrence of many words which emerges the vocabulary of local dialects of turkish language of turkey. at various times, within the framework of a particular system, to prevent this situation and popularıse the usage of words which are at the point of disappearance, some endeavours and struggle were made. however, despite all these studies it can not be concluded that all the words living in turkish dialects have been compiled. in this study, the etymon, metaphorical meanings in the historical process, aspects in historical texts of lexem ekti ~ ehdi “anası ölüp de baska bir koyuna alıstırılan ya da elde beslenen kuzu” “to habituate or feed by hand the sheep whose mother is dead” which is in the vocabulary of stockbreeding, reflects the anatolian culture and which still continue to live in dialects, were emphasised. examples which belong to various periods were presented. in addition, the derivatives of the word were mentioned and it was indicated that in which text and how often this word appeared. according to historical texts, orthography of this word was formed again. at the same time, the issue of homography and homonymy which needed to be focused in etymological studies was discussed.
