چکیده
|
The paper deals with the origin of the suffix +(x)mtul which was first attested in the 14th century. it is generally added to colour names, although not exclusively, with a diminutive function describing a lighter tone. the author sums up and evaluates the hypotheses of former scholars according to the history of the suffix and presents a new proposal.
