Social Media Usage and Social Media Addiction in Adolescents

Aim: this research was carried out to examine the social media addiction levels of adolescents with typical development. method: the study group of the research consisted of 500 adolescents attending 9th, 10th and 11th grades of official anatolian high schools affiliated to çankaya district national education directorate in ankara in the 2019-2020 academic year. “social media addiction scale for adolescents” was used as a data collection tool. the data obtained were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent samples t test, one way anova test and decision tree model, which are data mining methods. results and conclusion: according to the findings obtained from the research; social media addiction levels of girls were higher than boys. it was determined that grade level was not a significant variable in determining the level of addiction.
