معناشناسی واژۀ «حُکم» در قرآن کریم و امکان‌سنجی دلالت آن بر حکومت

واژۀ «حُکم» سی بار در قرآن کریم به کار رفته است. باوجود کاربردهای پربسامد این واژه و سایر مشتقات آن در قرآن کریم که تفاوت‌های معنایی روشن یا مبهمی را در این متن مقدّس به نمایش می‌گذارد، لغت‌شناسان و صاحبان کتب وجوه و نظائر در عمل معانی کلّی و محدودی را برای آن گزارش کرده‌اند. این پژوهش سعی دارد علاوه بر پیجویی همزادهای این واژه در زبان‌های سامی، با توجه به هم‌نشین‌های این واژه و بافت کاربرد آن در قرآن کریم، برخی معانی را معرفی کند که لغت‌شناسان به آن توجه نکرده‌اند. براساس این، علاوه بر داوری که قطعی‌ترین و پرکاربردترین معنای این واژه در عربی قرآنی است، معانی توانایی داوریِ صحیح، فرمان و دستور، مسئولیت و ماموریت و احتمالاً فرمانروایی از معانی دیگر این واژه در قرآن کریم است. همچنین، کاربرد «حُکم» در معنای حکومت و فرمانروایی که در عربی کلاسیک و معاصر گسترش آن را شاهدیم، در قرآن کریم محدود و غیرقطعی به نظر می‌رسد و دالّ اصلی این معنا در قرآن کریم «مُلک» و مشتقات آن است.

a semantic analysis of the quranic word ḥukm and the feasibility of its signification as government

the word ḥukm has been used 30 times in the holy quran. despite the frequent use of this word and its other derivatives in the holy quran which exhibit both clear and obscure semantic differences, lexicographers and authors of wujuh-wa-naẓāʼir have reported very general and restricted meanings for it. in this survey, we have explored its syntagmatic and contextual usages in the holy quran as well as its cognates in the semitic languages and presented some of its meanings ignored by others. we have concluded that in addition to ’adjudication’ which is the most used and certain meaning of this word in the quran, the meanings ’the faculty of sound judgment’, ’decree and ordinance’, ’mission and responsibility’, and possibly ’government’ are among the other meanings of this word in the holy quran. the application of this last meaning, which we have seen its spread in classical and contemporary arabic, seems to be restricted and uncertain in the holy quran and its main signifier in the quran is the term mulk and its derivatives.
