Qutb al-Din al-Shirazi’s Appendix to Book I of his Persian Translation of Euclid: Text, Context, Influence

The first part of the paper describes the persian translation of na??r al-d?n al-??s?’s ta?r?r kit?b uql?dis by qu?b al-d?n al-sh?r?z?, with a primary focus on his appendix to book i. part of a larger encyclopedic collection, al-sh?r?z?’s translation continued to be read for centuries. as evidence of the work’s influence, al-sh?r?z?’s appendix to book i was included in a nineteenth century printed edition of mu?ammad barakat’s commentary on book i of al-??s?’s treatise. i discuss this later use of al-sh?r?z?’s appendix in the second part of the paper.
