معرفی رسالۀ فی الآلات العجیبه اثر عبدالرحمن خازنی

منجمان دست کم از سدۀ نخست قبل از میلاد از ابزارهایی برای رصد اجرام آسمانی استفاده می‌کردند. ابزارهای این دوره عمدتاً برای تعیین زاویۀ میان دایرهالبروج و معدل‌النهار و تعیین لحظۀ ورود خورشید به اعتدالین استفاده می‌شدند. بطلمیوس از ابزارهایی مانند ذات الحلق، ذات الثقبتین و ذات الشعبتین نام برده است. در دورۀ اسلامی و ضمن انجام رصدهایی برای تدقیق گزارش‌های بطلمیوس، گزارش‌هایی از ساخت ابزارهای نجومی نو نیز به‌دست ما رسیده است، هرچند که بیشتر رساله‌های نوشته شده توسط مسلمانان مربوط به روش‌های ساخت و به‌کار بردن انواع گوناگون اسطرلاب هستند. رسالۀ فی الآلات العجیبه، اثر عبدالرحمن خازنی، رسالۀ کوچکی است که خازنی در آن به تشریح هفت ابزار رصدی مورد استفاده در زمان خویش پرداخته و روش‌های استفاده از آنها را آورده است و محاسباتی را که باید روی نتایج حاصل از این ابزارها انجام بشود، به صورت مدون و مشروح آورده است. در حال حاضر چهار نسخۀ خطی شناخته شده از این رساله در کتابخانه های مجلس شورای اسلامی، مدرسۀ سپهسالار، مغنیسه و دانشگاه استانبول وجود دارند. مقالۀ پیش رو ضمن معرفی رسالۀ مذکور، محتوای علمی آن را مورد بررسی قرار می‌دهد.

ʿAbd alRaḥmān alKhāzinī’s Treatise Fī alĀlāt alʿAjība: A short Review

The astronomers used instruments from the first century BC to observe heavenly bodies. The most of them were used to determine the angle between the ecliptic and equator circles and to find the moment of the sun’s arrival to the equinoxes. Ptolemy mentions some names of the instruments such as the armillary, dioptra and triquetrum. With the biginning of the attention to astronomy in the Islamic era and the new observations for the examination of Ptolemy’s reports, we have received reports of the construction of the instruments, although most of the essays written by the Muslims related to the construction and application of Astrolabes. ʿAbd alRaḥmān alKhāzinī’s (fl. in 6th AH/12th AD century) Fī Ālāt alʿAjība is a small treatise in which alKhāzinī describes the seven usual observation instruments of his era and the methods of their use and computations on the date which are derived from the observations. Currently, there are four manuscripts of this treatise available at the libraries of Majlis (in Iran), Sepahsalar School (in Iran), Manisa (in Turkey), and Istanbul University (in Turkey). In this article, we will give a brief report on this treatise and its surviving versions and the materials described therein
