چکیده    Background: staphylococcus aureus is predominant at sites of biomaterial-associated infection (bai) and frequently infects hospitalized individuals. methods: the polysaccharide intercellular adhesin (pia) and s. epidermidis rsesc protein, major macromolecules in biofilm formation, were purified under native conditions and cloned and expressed in a prokaryotic host. results: purification of the macromolecules was confirmed by ftir and western blotting. conclusions: the s. epidermidis sesc protein and pia were successfully purified. both are considered as vaccine candidates.
