Applying the qualitative methodology and the rhetorical analysis technique, this article analyzes one of the documentaries on the lake urmia environmental crisis. to reach this goal, the authors suggest 5 main issues in rhetorical analysis of documentaries on environmental crises which can help other scholars as well. these issues are characters, the rhetoric of human-error and designation of fault, emotional stimulations and attractions, rhetorical techniques of logical persuasion, and sustainable development.considering the issues in rhetorical analysis of documentaries on environmental crises will help scholars to understand the hidden aspects and layers communicators used to persuade the audience. therefore, they can provide more and better strategies to affect the public opinion and moving toward the sustainable environmental development.
