هر چند دامنه بحث از قرآن ونظریه تکامل همچنان بعضی از طرفداران خود را در طیف وسیعی از جدایی یا تعارض آن دو قرار داده است، اما کسانی هم هستند که به ارتباط و یکپارچگی آن دو می اندیشند، از آن جمله جیمز کلارک، فیلسوف دین معاصرکه با تحلیل پاره ای از مبانی معرفتی و روش شناختی او در این پژوهش مشخص گردید که نگاه او به علم و دین ویژگی های خاص خود را دارد، مثلاً او در رابطه نظریه تکامل با قرآن به سراغ سبک بیانی قرآن رفته و با مداقه در آیات خلقت به این نتیجه رسیده است که بیان قرآن در موضوع خلقت انسان مختصر و پراکنده و اغلب دارای ابهام است، و این خود ویژگی منحصر و سازگار با اهداف عالی قرآن است. لذا تلاش برای کشف و فهم مراحل خلقت با همه جزئیاتش از طریق قرآن ما را به ناسازگاری آن با نظریه علمی تکامل می رساند. بعلاوه، رویکرد دقیق در میان مفسران قرآن هم برای کسانی خواهد بود که از بیان قرآن در آفرینش انسان درصدد کشف همه حقایق و مراحل خلقت برنیایند، بلکه هم نقش و جایگاه مهمی برای علم و کشفیات جدید علمی دانشمندان علوم مختلف در نظر گیرند و هم اینکه اشارات قرآن در این موضوع را جهت اثبات امور وحقایق مهمتری چون فرجام کفرورزی، ضرورت مغرور نشدن و لزوم تقوا ورزیدن وتسلیم امر الهی بودن آدمی، تفکر در آفرینش و تذکر به نعمات و یاد خدا، معاد، قدرت و خالقیت الهی و شایستگی پرستش خدا بدانند.
