The Assessment of the Mass Housing Areas in Istanbul Developed by Public Control in Terms of Green Space Criteria: Examples of Ataşehir-Esenkent-Halkalı Mass Housing Settlements

Just like all developing societies with increasing population, the need for housing has emerged as a dominant town planning element. affected by the industrialization, unplanned urbanization started to prevail in big cities. this development has affected the open and green spaces in big cities in particular and has been one of the leading factors in the emergence of the mass housing phenomenon. within the scope of the research, three selected areas (atasehir, esenkent and halkalı mass housing settlements) developed by public control which have different models in the provision were investigated in istanbul with the aim of proving differences intended to post occupancy evaluation in green spaces in terms of quality criterias in residential areas by comparing the latest applications and defining standards of the environment and green space in mass housing settlements.
