چکیده    Reconstruction of periacetabular defects following pelvic tumor resection is a demanding procedure in orthopaedic surgical oncology. conventional reconstruction procedures may have dissatisfying mechanical and functional results. more recently developed, lumic acetabular implant (implantcast, buxtehude, germany) has been used for acetabular reconstruction after type 2 pelvic resection. we aimed to present a 28-year-old female patient who underwent a reconstruction surgery with a lumic acetabular implant following a type-ii pelvic resection due to periacetabular ewing’s sarcoma. another important feature of the patient is that the surgery was performed without trochanteric osteotomy. therefore in the early postoperative period and the second postoperative year, the patient was capable for active hip abduction with a good fonctional score according to musculoskeletal tumor society rating scale. in conclusion, satisfactory functional and radiological results can be obtained with lumic® acetabular implant. it is also shown that type 2 resection can be achieved without trochanteric osteotomy.
