هدف: این مقاله با هدف ریشه‌یابی منشاء روحیه کم نظیر مقاومت مردم در غزه به بررسی چگونگی تعامل مردم غزه در ادوار مختلف تاریخی با جنگهایی که فاتحان و مهاجمان درغزه داشته اند پرداخته و درستی این گزاره را که روحیه مقاومت در مردم غزه قدمتی به درازای تاریخ دارد، بررسی کرده است.روش: در پاسخ به مساله در مرحله جمع آوری اطلاعات کتابخانه‌ای و اسنادی و در مرحله تجزیه و تحلیل داده ها به روش تحلیل تاریخی و روش مقایسه‌ای بوده است.یافته‌ها: یافته‌های پژوهش نشان می دهد که به گواهی تاریخ، غزه با اتکا به فرهنگ نهادینه شده مقاومت در برابر هیچ متجاوزی زانو نزده و نرمش نشان نداده است. از جمله ویژگی‌های برجسته این فرهنگ شجاعت، دلیری، سرسختی و ظلم ستیزی است که میراث وضعیت جنگی بسیاری است که غزه در ادوار تاریخی از باستان تا کنون با آن درگیر بوده و آزار مردم را موجب شده است.نتیجه‌گیری: غزه به رغم مساحت کوچکش، موقعیت بسیار مهم جغرافیایی دارد و از مهمترین مکان‌های روی زمین بوده است که در معرض چشم‌داشت، جنگ، اشغال و درگیری قرار داشته است. از این رو مردم غزه نسل بعد از نسل برای دفاع از هویت خود جنگیده‌اند و در برابر مهاجمان سرسخت بوده اند و صفت شجاعت، و قدرت تحمل و صبردر برابر سختی ها و بیزاری از قبول ذلت میراثی است که از پدرانشان به ارث برده‌اند.
