مطالعه‌ی تطبیقی داستان شازده کوچولو اثر دوسنت اگزوپری و فیلم انیمیشنِ شازده کوچولو به کارگردانی مارک آزبرن

داستانِ بلند شازده‌کوچولو نوشته‌ی آنتوان دو سنت‌اگزوپری اثری در ستایش درک مشترک است؛ یادآوری این امر که هیچ‌کس کامل نیست و برای دستیابی به صلح و دوستی، باید که یکدیگر را بفهمیم. مطرح‌شدن این ایده در دوران پر از آشوب جنگ دوم جهانی عجیب نیست؛ همچنان‌که هنوز هم موضوعی نو به‌حساب می‌آید. اما شازده‌کوچولو، باوجود ارزش‌های شاعرانه و مفاهیم بلند انسانی آن، ازنظر پیرنگ، به‌ویژه برای اقتباس دراماتیک به اصلاحاتی نیازمند است. در این مقاله، با مطالعه‌ی تطبیقی اقتباسی سینمایی از آن به مارک آزبرن، با تاکید بر نظریه‌ی روایت و نیز آرای لیندا هاچن و دبورا کارتمل درزمینه‌ی اقتباس، ظرفیت‌های دراماتیک داستان بررسی شده است. یافته‌های پژوهش نشان داد، فیلم انیمیشن مذکور کوشیده اقتباسی امروزی از اثر ارائه دهد و با طرح مسائل کودک امروزی در مواجهه با زندگی شخصی و اجتماعی، داستان دو سنت‌اگزوپری را از سطح داستانی نمادین فراتر ببرد. در این فیلم هر سه سطح موردنظر دبورا کارتمل قابل ملاحظه است. نخست آنکه از رسانه‌ی روایی رمان به رسانه‌ی دیداری فیلم «انتقال» صورت گرفته و از ابزار بیانی رسانه‌ی مقصد برای عینیت بخشیدن به آن بهره گرفته است. این امر ملاحظات مربوط به اقتباس از گونه‌ی روایی به گونه‌ی دیداری را، آن‌چنان‌که مد نظر لیندا هاچن بوده، تامین کرده است. دوم آنکه، این انتقال همراه با «تفسیر» بوده است، زیرا در آن متناسب با مخاطب و زمانه، تفسیری جدید از داستان ارائه شده و نقش نهاد مدرسه در جوامع سرمایه‌داری در کشتن خلاقیت کودکان و تبدیل کردنِ آن‌ها به «آدم‌بزرگ» نقد شده است. فیلم‌ساز به این اکتفا نکرده که اقتباسی از شازده‌کوچولو ارائه دهد و مقایسه را به فرایند بینامتنی روایت واگذار کند. بلکه فیلم، با روایت موازی سرگذشتِ شازده‌کوچولو و داستان دختربچه‌ی امروزی، امکان «قیاس» را بین آن‌ها فراهم ساخته است. به‌این‌ترتیب، می‌توان اقتباس سینمایی موردنظر را موفق ارزیابی کرد.

the little prince written by antoine de saint-exupéry is a story in praise of common understanding: no one is perfect and to achieve peace and friendship, we must understand each other. it is not strange that this idea came up during the chaos of world war ii; as it is still considered a deeply new subject. but the little prince, despite its poetic values and high human concepts, in its plot needs some reforms, especially for dramatic adaptation. in this article, the dramatic capacities of this story have been investigated with a comparative study of its film adaptation by mark osborne, emphasizing the narrative theory and the opinions of linda hutcheon and deborah cartmell in the field of adaptation. the result of the research show that the aforementioned anime film tried to present a modern adaptation of the work and by presenting the issues of today's childhood in the face of personal and social life, the story of saint-exupéry goes beyond the level of a symbolic story. in this movie, all three levels of cartmell are noticeable. first, it has been transferred from the novel's narrative medium to the visual medium of the film, and the expressive means of the destination medium have been used to objectify it, which raises the considerations of adapting from the narrative form to the visual form, as considered by linda hatcheon. secondly, this transition was accompanied by commentary, because in it, a new interpretation of the story was presented according to the audience and the time, and the role of the school institution in capitalist societies in killing children's creativity and turning them into great people was criticized. is. finally, the director is not content to simply present an adaptation of the little prince and leave the comparison to the intertextual process of the narration. rather, the film, with the parallel narration of the story of the little prince and the story of a modern-day little girl, has provided the possibility of comparison between them. in this way, the movie adaptation can be evaluated as a success.
