چکیده    Due to the progressive development of weapons such as hypervelocity projectiles,an enhancement for the fortified structures protective layer material is essential. in this study the ferrocement technique was employed for concrete panels to resist the penetration of hypervelocity projectiles. the effect of number and distribution of the steel wire mesh layers inside the concrete panels were studied. since the experimental tests for hypervelocity projectiles are very complicated and very costly,the numerical simulation technique was adopted in this paper. nonlinear three-dimensional finite element model for a penetrator with hypervelocity of 2200 m/s hitting concrete panels reinforced by layers of steel mesh ferrocement
