|
The anaerobic hybrid reactor-ahr - is a combination of the upflow anaerobic sludge blanket uasb and anaerobic filter reactor af concepts. it is composed of a suspended bed located in the bottom of the reactor and a region of attached biomass on support media in the upper part of the reactor. an experimental model was constructed,installed and operated in zenien wwtp,giza,egypt. the model was fed with raw sewage at different hrt: 6,8 and 10 hours with different media depth: 0,25,and 50 cm of reactor's height. at hrt=6 hours and before placing the media inside the reactor,bod,cod,tss and vss removal efficiencies reached 81.5%,82.5 %,75.5 and 79.5% respectively. at media height 50cm in the upper part of the reactor,with different hrt 6,8 and 10,the removal efficiencies increased by about 11%,9%,17.5% and 14% for bod,cod,tss and vss respectively. keywords: anaerobic wastewater treatment; anaerobic hybrid reactor; internal packing media.
