چکیده    In this paper,id and 2d analyses are performed to investigate the dynamic response of cantilever sheet pile wall located in two deferent deposits of sand. the id ground response analyses were performed based on single-phase visco-elastic nonlinear medium. the results of id analysis are then used to evaluate the profiles of shear modulus and damping ratio of soil depending on the effective deformation level expected during earthquake loading. these profiles are used in order to simulate the 2d fully coupled finite element adopting visco-elasto-plastic effective stress models for the soil. the comparison between conventional uncoupled method using m-o according to ec8-5 pseudo-static analysis and the coupled solution is also presented. the 2d model is extended to investigate the dynamic internal forces as well as wall displacement under the effect of rigidity of wall, ratio between retained height and buried depth of wall and soil type. results show significant role of coupled analysis on the dynamic response of the sheet pile wall. also, the results obtained by the analyses indicate to,the ratio between dynamic internal forces and the static situation increases with the increase of the rigidity of the wall and with the decrease of the ratio between retained height and buried depth.
