شیوع بیماری آنفلوانزا در ایالت‌های غربی ایران عصرِ قاجار با تکیه بر گزارش‌های روزنامه اختر

شیوع بیماری‌ها همواره یکی از دغدغه‌های اصلی بشر بوده که به‌تناسب پیشرفت‌های علمی خود، به شناسایی انواع بیماری‌ها و ارائه راهکارهایی برای پیشگیری و درمان آن‌ها پرداخته است. شناسایی برخی بیماری‌ها ازجمله آنفلوانزا به دوره قاجار برمی‌گردد. در این دوره روزنامه‌ها به درج طیف وسیعی از موضوعات، ازجمله بیماری‌ها پرداخته تا وضعیت سلامتی جامعه را منعکس کنند. در این پژوهش نگارندگان با استفاده از روش توصیفی تحلیلی و بهره‌مندی از اسناد آرشیوی منتشرنشده و تکیه‌بر گزارش‌های روزنامه اختر، در نظر دارند به این پرسش‌ها پاسخ دهند که عوامل شیوع بیماری آنفلوانزا در ایالت‌های غربی ایران عصر قاجار از منظر روزنامه اختر کدم‌اند؟ و این روزنامه در امر اطلاع‌رسانی و آموزش، پیشگیری و درمان بیماری آنفلوانزا چه نقشی داشته است؟ یافته‌های این تحقیق نشان می‌دهد برودت هوا، مراودات خارجی، تراکم جمعیت، عدم رعایت نکات بهداشتی، زندگی با حیوانات از عوامل اصلی شیوع این بیماری در ایالت‌های غربی ایران عصر قاجار بوده و این روزنامه با آگاهی بخشی دربارۀ این بیماری، تاکید بر محدودیت در روابط اجتماعی به هنگام بروز آن به امر اطلاع‌رسانی همت گماشته و با ارائه توصیه‌هایی چون تقویت سیستم ایمنی بدن، پرهیز از غذایی‌های پرچرب به هنگام ابتلا، استفاده از گیاهان دارویی و دوری از سرما نقش خود را در مهار بیماری و درمان آن به‌ویژه در مناطق شهری ایفاء نموده است.

the outbreak of influenza in the western provinces of iran during the qajar era: based on reports from akhtar newspaper

the spread of diseases has always been one of the main concerns of mankind, which, in proportion to its scientific advances, has identified various diseases and provided solutions for their prevention and treatment. the identification of some diseases, including influenza, dates back to the qajar era. during this period, newspapers included a wide range of topics, including diseases, to reflect the health status of the community. in this study, the authors, using a descriptive analytical method and benefiting from unpublished archival documents and relying on reports from the akhtar newspaper, intend to answer these questions: what are the factors that caused the spread of influenza in the western provinces of iran during the qajar era from the perspective of the akhtar newspaper? and what role did this newspaper play in informing and educating, preventing and treating influenza? the findings of this study show that cold weather, foreign contacts, population density, lack of hygiene, and living with animals were the main factors behind the spread of this disease in the western provinces of iran during the qajar era. this newspaper has made an effort to spread information by raising awareness about this disease, emphasizing the need to limit social relationships when it occurs, and by providing recommendations such as strengthening the immune system, avoiding high fat foods when infected, using medicinal herbs, and avoiding the cold, it has played its role in controlling the disease and treating it, especially in urban areas.
