چالش اسامی خاص در ترجمه‌های فارسی و انگلیسی نهج‌البلاغه

یکی از مشکلات ترجمۀ متون ادبی- مذهبی، مسئله معادل‌گزینی برای اسامی خاص است. هدف پژوهش حاضر بررسی راهکارهای ترجمۀ نام های خاص نهج‌البلاغه امام علی (علیه‌السلام) است. برای تحقّق هدف، سه ترجمۀ فارسی به قلم مکارم شیرازی، آیتی و جعفری و سه ترجمه انگلیسی توسط حسین، جفری، و گروه طرح کتابخانۀ اسلامی دیجیتال اهل‌البیت برگزیده شده است. برای تحلیل داده ها از جدیدترین الگوی حاضر برای بررسی نام های خاص (نیانجری-وانگری، 2019) استفاده شد. این مدل شامل شش راهکار «حفظ، ترجمۀ قرضی، انتقال با الحاق نکات توضیحی، اقتباس، جایگزینی با اسامی عام، حذف» است. پژوهشگر در پی یافتن پاسخ برای این پرسش است که آیا مدل نیانجری-وانگری (2019) تمام راهکارهای مترجمان را پوشش داده است؟ مترجمان چه راهکارهایی در ترجمۀ اسامی خاص در نهج البلاغه به کار برده‌اند؟ آیا مترجمان در بکارگیری راهکارها ثبات داشته اند؟ آیا سوگیری خاصی در تمایل مترجمان فارسی و انگلیسی به کاربرد نوع خاصی از راهکارها وجود داشته است؟ توزیع کمّی (درصد و بسامد) راهکارها چگونه است؟ پرکاربردترین و کم‌کاربردترین راهبردهای ترجمه اسامی خاص کدامند؟ طبق یافته های تحقیق، بالاترین بسامد در بکارگیری راهکارها توسط هر دو گروه از مترجمان فارسی و انگلیسی متعلق به دو راهکار «حفظ» و «انتقال با الحاق نکات توضیحی» است. مجموع این دو راهکار بیش از یک سوم کل راهبردها را پوشش داده ند. از سوی دیگر، مشاهده شد که کمترین تمایل مترجمان در استفاده از راهکار جایگزینی نام های خاص با اسامی عام بوده است.

the challenge of proper names in english and persian translations of nahj al-balagha

one of the problems in translating literary-religious texts is the issue of choosing equivalents for proper names (pns). the aim of the present study was to investigate the procedures of translating pns in imam ali's nahj al-balaghah and its three persian translations (by makarem shirazi, ayati, jafari) and three english translations (by husain, jafari, and ahlul bayt digital islamic library project). to analyze the data, the most recent model (i.e., nyanjeri-wangri, 2019) was used as the framework for examining the pns. the model included six procedures of preservation, loan translations, non-translation plus additional explanation, adaptation, use of common nouns. the researcher attempted to find answers to the following questions: does nyangeri and wangari's (2019) taxonomy cover all procedures used by translator? what procedures are employed by translators? are translators consistent in using specific procedures for rendering all pns? is there any difference between english and persian translators' tendencies towards using particular procedures? how is the distribution of procedures? what are the most and the least frequent procedures? based on the findings, both groups of persian translators and english translators have most frequently employed the two procedures of preservation and non-translation plus additional explanation. together, these two procedures covered more than a third of all procedures. on the other hand, it was found that use of common nouns was the least repeatedly used procedure.
