70 سال دسته بندی و نامگذاری آنزیم ها: معرفی دسته هفتم واکنش های آنزیمی

اولین اقدام صورت گرفته در جهت نامگذاری سامان‌یافته مواد شیمیائی غیرآلی  و آلی به ترتیب مربوط نیمه دوم قرن‌های هجدهم  و نوزدهم میلادی است. با این وجود، استانداردسازی بین‌المللی نامگذاری مواد شیمیائی با بنیانگذاری اتحادیه بین‌المللی شیمی محض و کاربردی (iupac) در سال 1919 م. (1297 خ.) تحقق عینی یافت. همچنین علیرغم کاربرد واژه کاتالیز با مفهوم تسریع واکنش‌های شیمیائی در نیمه دوم قرن هجده، ارائه مفهوم امروزی کاتالیز و همچنین، معرفی اولین فعالیت آنزیمی در دهه سوم قرن نوزدهم جامه عمل پوشید. در ادامه، اقدام در جهت استانداردسازی بین‌المللی آنزیم‌ها تا زمان بنیانگذاری اتحادیه بین‌المللی بیوشیمی (iub) که از دهه پایانی قرن بیستم به اتحادیه بین‌المللی بیوشیمی  و زیست‌شناسی مولکولی (iubmb) تغییر نام داد، در ابتدای نیمه دوم قرن بیستم معطل ماند. تا اینکه در ابتدای دهه ششم قرن مزبور،  iub با سازمان‌دهی و تشکیل کمیسیون آنزیم (ec) در ابتدا با مشورتو در ادامه با همکاری iupac، شروع به انتشار گزارش‌های دسته‌بندی و نامگذاری آنزیم‌ها بر اساس نوع واکنش نمود. نتیجه اقدام مزبور انتشار 6 گزارش و 13 الحاقیه نامگذاری و دسته‌بندی آنزیم‌ها تا پایان قرن بیستم بود. بر این اساس آنزیم‌ها در 6 دسته، نامگذاری و دسته‌بندی شدند. تا اینکه، بعد از 70 سال از زمان تلاش بین‌المللی  و سازمان یافته برای نامگذاری آنزیم‌ها و نیز 60 سال بعد از انتشار اولین گزارش کمیسیون آنزیمی،گروهی از آنزیم‌ها در دسته هفتم (ec 7) نامگذاری و دسته‌بندی شدند. در مقاله حاضر ضمن اطلاع‌رسانی در مورد اضافه شدن دسته هفتم به 6 دسته آنزیم‌ها توسط کارگروه نامگذاری آنزیم  از اتحادیه بین‌المللی بیوشیمی و زیست‌شناسی مولکولی (en-iubmb)و کمیسیون مشترک نامگذاری بیوشیمیائی اتحادیه بین‌المللی بیوشیمی و زیست‌شناسی مولکولیو اتحادیه بین‌المللی شیمی محض و کاربردی (jcbn)، سرگذشت نامگذاری آنزیم‌ها از ابتدا تاکنون مرور می‌شود.

70 Years Classification and Nomenclature of the Enzymes: the Seventh Classes of Enzymes

The first attempt to organized nomenclature of the inorganic and organic chemicals dates back to the second half of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. However, the international standardization of chemical nomenclature came to the founding of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) in 1919. Despite the use of the term catalysis with the concept of accelerating chemical reactions in the second half of the eighteenth century, the modern concept of catalysis was introduced in the third decade of the nineteenth century almost at the same time as the introduction of the first enzymatic activity. Nevertheless, the international standardization of enzymes nomenclature was delayed until the sixth decade of the century when the International Union of Biochemistry (IUB), (which was renamed as the International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology or IUBMB) was founded at the beginning of the second half of the 20th century. The IUB began to publish reports on the classification and naming of enzymes based on the type of reaction, through organizing the Enzyme Commission (EC), first in consultation with and then in cooperation with the IUPAC. The result was the publication of six reports and 13 supplements naming and classifying enzymes by the end of the twentieth century. Based on this, enzymes were named and classified into 6 classes. Until, 70 years after the international and organized effort to name enzymes and 60 years after the publication of the first report of the Enzyme Commission, a group of enzymes were named as “Translocases” and classified in the seventh class (EC 7). Here, while informing about the addition of the seventh class to the preregistered 6 classes of enzymes by the Enzyme nomenclature working group from of IUBMB (EN-IUBMB) and the IUBMB/IUPAC Joint Biochemical nomenclature commission (JCBN), the history of enzyme classification and nomenclature from the beginning to the present is reviewed.
