رشد سریع اقتصادی چین در پرتو به کارگیری یک استراتژی کارآمد ملی باعث شده است که چین به طور متوسط هر هشت سال یک بار تولید ناخالص داخلی خود را دوبرابر کند. چین به بزرگترین شریک تجاری ایالات متحده تبدیل شده است. بزرگترین منبع واردات و سومین بازار صادراتی ایالات متحده است. ظهور چین در دو دهه گذشته، چشم انداز سیاست جهانی را بازسازی کرده است. تنش فزاینده بین ایالات متحده و چین با توجه به این واقعیت که ایالات متحده و چین هم از نظر ژئوپلیتیکی و هم از نظر ایدئولوژیک با یکدیگر در حال هستند، یادآور رقابتهای آمریکا با شوروی سابق در دوران موسوم به جنگ سرد است. نظر به اهمیت آسیا – پاسیفیک در کلان روندهای ژئوپلیتیکی این مقاله در صدد است باروش توصییفی و تحلیلی و استفاده از منابع در دسترس، بنیان‌های ژئوپلیتیکی رقابت ایالات متحده آمریکا و چین در آسیا-پاسیفیک بپردازد. یافته ها نشان می دهد ایالات متحده و متحدان خود در جبهه ژئواستراتژیک بحری سعی در ایجاد محدودیت و چالش برای چین به عنوان یک قدرت بری تاثیرگذار بر فرآیندهای منطقه ای و جهانی هستند. چین که خود را در محاصره متحدان آمریکا می بیند سعی دارد با بکارگیری استراتژیهای ژئوپلیتیکی متفاوت زنجیره متحدان آمریکا در اطراف خود را گسسته و با ورود به مناطق مختلف جهان، آمریکا و متحدان غربی آن را به چالش بکشد.

the geopolitical foundations of us-china competition in the asia-pacific

china's rapid economic growth, driven by an effective national strategy, has seen its gdp double on average every eight years. china has become the us's largest trading partner. it is the largest source of imports and the third largest export market for the us. china's rise over the past two decades has reshaped the global political landscape. the growing tension between the united states and china, given the fact that the united states and china are both geopolitically and ideologically united, is reminiscent of the american rivalry with the former soviet union during the so-called cold war. given the importance of the asia-pacific region in overall geopolitical trends, this article aims to describe and analyse the use of available resources, the geopolitical underpinnings of the competition between the united states and china in the asia-pacific region. the findings show that the united states and its allies on the maritime geostrategic front are trying to constrain and challenge china as a barry power influencing regional and global processes. china, which sees itself surrounded by us allies, is trying to break the chain of us allies around it by adopting different geopolitical strategies and challenging the us and its western allies by moving into different parts of the world.
