The canal of nuck is analogous to a patent processusvaginalis in a male, which normally loses its communicationto the peritoneal cavity within the first year of life. failureof obliteration of this tract can result in a hydrocele. wepresent a rare case of a 3-year-old girl with right-sided groinswelling over a year, diagnosed as hydrocele of canal ofnuck. patient underwent surgical exploration and excisionof hydrocele. this entity should be considered in youngfemales presenting with an inguinal swelling.
