چگونگی تاثیرگذاری علم بر سکولاریزاسیون

موضوع علم و دین از دیرباز مورد توجه نویسندگان قرار داشت و بسیاری بر این باورند که علم علت عرفی شدن جامعه است.مقاله با مبنا قرار دادن این باور بر موضوع تاثیر علم بر عرفی شدن تمرکز دارد و با بررسی چرایی تاثیر علم بر عرفی شدن چگونگی این تاثیر را نیز نشان دهد. در مسیر پاسخ گویی به سوال فوق به شکل مفصل نظرات حامیان تاثیر علم بر عرفی شدن مورد بررسی قرار گرفت و از نگاه آنان این موضوع به بحث گذاشته شد. در انتها و در پاسخ به این سوال که علل و مکانیسم عرفی‌شدن چه می‌باشد؟ این نتیجه حاصل شد که علت تاثیر علم بر عرفی ‌شدن تخالف و ناسازگاری «پیش‌ فرض‌ها و اعتقادات اساسی»، «پیامد ها»، «ویژگی ‌ها»، «تبیین‌ ها» و «روحیه» علمی با دین می باشد. در این وضع یعنی وجود ناسازگاری میان موارد بالا با دین علم از طریق کاهش نیاز به دین یا تغییر نگرش‌ ها و اعتقادات افراد موجب عرفی‌شدن جامعه می‌گردد. یعنی علم از یک سو نیاز افراد به دین را کاهش می دهد و از سوی دیگر موجب تغییر در نگرش ها و اعتقادات آنان می گردد و از این طریق عرفی شدن را نتیجه می دهد.
