Abstract
field and aims: with the growing complexity and transnational nature of crime, cooperation between international institutions such as interpol and national legal systems, including islamic criminal law, has become an unavoidable necessity. this study aims to provide a comparative analysis of the extent to which interpol's missions converge with the rules of islamic criminal law in the fields of extradition and prosecution of offenders, while identifying existing gaps and offering practical solutions to strengthen such cooperation.method: the research adopts a descriptive–analytical approach, based on the study of library and documentary sources. these include interpol's constitution, its data processing regulations, islamic jurisprudential sources, and statutory provisions of islamic law.findings: the study reveals significant substantive convergence between the two systems. the most important commonalities include recognition of transnational cooperation as a duty, adherence to human rights and fair trial standards, rejection of political motivations, and the necessity of responsible use of technology with respect for privacy. nevertheless, differences in the foundations of legitimacy, the philosophy of punishment, and the definition of certain crimes were identified as practical challenges to effective cooperation.conclusion: the research demonstrates that islamic criminal law, with its coherent principled framework, is not an obstacle to cooperation. rather, it can serve both as a driver of participation and as a safeguard against unjust requests, by providing intrinsic justice based criteria. although political misuse of tools such as red notices remains a serious challenge, strengthening transparent oversight mechanisms within interpol, building capacity in national central bureaus of islamic countries, and drafting joint protocols based on the findings of this study are key to achieving effective and equitable cooperation.
