Media influence in the dialogue of life: From the perspectives of a revert muslim [Pengaruh media dalam dialog kehidupan: Perspektif pengalaman saudara baru]

Media influence in the dialogue of life that occurred in the pre-conversion experience of community new muslim (muslim converts) contribute to the process of conversion. this experience has also occurred in the life of the new muslim chinese converts society in the state of terengganu. media influence which display islamic elements through the sharing activities in muslim and non-muslim relationship in dialogue of life enables new muslim converted to understand the real values of islam and changed their perception of the islamic religion. the objective of this study is to determine the influence of media on understanding the values of islam among the new muslim (muslim converts). interviews are conducted with the chinese community who had converted to islam in the state of terengganu. the findings in this study have shown that the dialogue of life pre-conversion helped them in their efforts to understanding and explore the religion of islam deeply. the information that new muslims shared about their pre-conversion experiences in the dialogue of life repeatedly confirmed the importance of media to concrete knowing and understanding the message of islam in the state of terengganu. © 2015,jurnal komunikasi malaysian journal of communication. all right reserved.
