Reflection of political discourse in literature: An analysis of the novel kawin-kawin [Bayangan wacana politik dalam karya sastera: Analisis novel kawin-kawin]

Novel literatures are not produced in void. writers are often inspired by issues occurring in their community,including socio-cultural,economic and political events. authors often use their literature to express views,ideologies,visions and hopes. this study looks at how literary works are influenced by political event,particularly in the kawin-kawin novel by azizi haji abdullah. among the issues raised in the novel include conflicts of ideology in community,abuse of power,corruption and cronyism. the study found that the novel author used his interpretation of current political problems in his writing. his personal stance and ideology as a member of pas political party is also apparent in his writing. © 2015,jurnal komunikasi malaysian journal of communication. all right reserved.
