چکیده    Emotional intelligence is an integral part of organizational communication. employees’ emotional intelligence is an important asset to the organization. emotional intelligence will produce a well-balanced employee in terms of physical,mental and psychological. this paper examines the importance of emotional intelligence on job satisfaction among sports implementer staffs in the klang valley. sports implementer staffs are among the people who are interacting most with various groups of society,from minister level to athletes and sports enthusiast who came from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds. hence their abilities and skills in managing emotions when dealing with stakeholders are very important. the five dimensions of emotional intelligence were studied to see the level of emotional intelligence among the sports implementer staffs and the correlations and influences of emotional intelligence on job satisfaction. these five dimensions are self-awareness,self-control,social skills,self-motivation and empathy. based on the analysis of mean,the five dimensions of emotional intelligence of sports implementer staffs are at a high level. through correlation analysis,there is a significant high positive correlation between emotional intelligence and job satisfaction (p <. 01,r = 0.83). while multiple regression analysis showed a significant effect of the dimensions of social skills and self-awareness on job satisfaction (p <. 01,r2 = 0.76). this suggests that social skills and self-awareness give an impact on job satisfaction by 76 percent. the other three dimensions which are self-control,self-motivation and empathy are not significant. © 2015,jurnal komunikasi malaysian journal of communication. all rights reserved.
