CITIZEN TO CITIZEN JOURNALISM: ITS EMERGENCE AND DEVELOPMENT IN MALAYSIA

Cyberspace freedom enjoyed by malaysians is the effect of the announcement of the multimedia super corridor (msc) project by the country's fourth prime minister, tun mahathir mohamad. he announced the msc malaysia bill of guarantees which contains a list of government guarantees to encourage the growth of msc status companies and the information technology industry in malaysia. there are ten items in the bill of guarantees in connection with the construction and development of malaysia, however, only the sixth to the eighth draft of the bill is directly related to the development of information technology in the country. first, to be a regional leader in intellectual property protection and cyber laws. second, no censorship of the internet and the last is to provide competitive communications tariffs globally. this step was taken by former prime minister to attract foreign investors, but it has actually opened an era of information technology in the country that allows people to enjoy the freedom of moving in the cyber world. one of the results of this freedom was the birth of citizen journalism. but what is citizen journalism and what is the main cause of their birth in this country?
