از مدینه فاضلۀ اسلامی تا کلان شهر مدرن؛ مطالعۀ مقایسه‌ای اندیشۀ فارابی و زیمل و دلالت های آن در فرهنگ و حیات شهری معاصر

شهر به‌عنوان یکی از کانون‌های اصلی تکوین دنیای مدرنِ غربی، مورد توجه متفکرین غربی همچون ماکس وبر، کارل مارکس و گئورگ زیمل قرار گرفته است. در مقابل در سنت اسلامی-ایرانی، درکی از شهر در ذیل مدینۀ فاضله وجود داشته است که باعث شده در مواجهۀ مسلمین با جهانِ غربی، تاملات الاهیاتی دربارۀ شهر تبدیل به حوزه‌ای گسترده شود. هدفِ این مقاله، آن است تا با بهره‌گیری از روش مطالعۀ تطبیقی-تاریخی، الگوی مواجهۀ حکمای مسلمان نظیر ابونصر فارابی، در مواجهه با پولیس یونانی را نشان دهد و از آن در مواجهۀ امروز با نظریات شهری مدرن بهره گیرد. برای این هدف، ابتدا مواجهۀ انتقادی فارابی با پولیس یونانی را بررسی کرده‌ایم و پس از آن، به مقایسۀ ایدۀ فارابی با دیدگاه گئورگ زیمل پرداخته‌ایم. زیمل با توصیفی انتقادی، به تشریح ویژگی‌های فرهنگ و حیات شهری مدرن می‌پردازد و مولفه‌های آن نظیر محوریتِ اقتصاد پولی، فردیتِ فزاینده و از خودبیگانی و نظایر آنها را تشریح می‌کند. در نتیجه‌گیری، با نظر به بصیرت‌های این مطالعۀ تطبیقی، به موضوعات قابل پژوهش دیگری در این حوزه با نظر به وضعیتِ شهرهای اسلامی-ایرانی در مواجهه با شهرهای مدرن اشاره شده است.

from the islamic utopia (madinah fazeleh) to the modern metropolis; a comparative study of farabi and simmel’s thought and its implications for contemporary culture and urban life

as one of the main foci of the development of the modern western world, the city has attracted the attention of western thinkers such as max weber, karl marx and georg simmel. on the other hand, in the islamic-iranian tradition, there has been an understanding of the city under madinah which has caused the theological reflections on the city to become a wide field when muslims face the western world. the purpose of this article is to use the comparative-historical study method to show the pattern of muslim scholars such as abu nasr al-farabi in the confrontation with the greek polis and use it in today’s confrontation with modern city ideas. for this purpose, we have firstly examined farabi’s critical encounter with the greek polis and secondly compared farabi’s idea with georg simmel’s view. with a critical description, georg simmel describes the characteristics of modern city culture and life and explains its components such as the centrality of monetary economy, increasing individuality and alienation, and the like. in the conclusion, according to the insights of this comparative study, other researchable topics in this field have been pointed out regarding the situation of islamic-iranian cities in the face of modern cities.
